In connection with import and export, we carry out inspection and control of condition of goods, packaging and markings together with presence of correct number of items and quantity.
Inspection is carried out on all types of goods, and we make daily inspection and control of loose goods as well as more tangible items such as oil, grains, feedstuff, fertiliser, electronic equipment, pumps, wind turbines, containers, sacked goods, sugar, vegetable oil – just to mention a few of the products we come into contact with on a daily basis.
Inspection usually takes place in connection with loading or unloading from ship, truck or container and is carried out both in ports, warehouses or at either supplier or consignee in connection with shipping or receipt of goods. Often during inspection, samples are taken or test and measurements are made – all sampling and testing are carried out according to national as well as international contracts, and we are also often asked to carry out sampling according to private agreements made by buyer/seller.
When inspection is finished, an inspection report is drawn up in which all information identifying the goods is registered. Furthermore, the report will provide a thorough review of what we have recorded and noticed during inspection of the goods. Naturally, we comply with rules and regulations for the content of such reports. The report is drawn up in the language preferred by the client and forwarded to the client as soon as possible electronically, in hard copy or both – as preferred by the client.
